
The trend-sters at Stylus.com have identified, ‘Sun, sea and safari’ as a key trend this season for both high fashion and high street designers. Shoppers are being transported to the jungle, with Mulberry and Banana Republic embracing the animalistic theme, adorning their window displays with Zebra’s and monkeys.

Apparently, introverts are in fashion. I want to say ‘again’ but I don’t believe they ever were, except for when Garbo uttered those timeless words. But now, thanks to Susan Cain and the hype around her new book, ‘Quiet: The power of introverts in a world that can’t stop talking’, they’re at least being acknowledged as a valid segment of the human race. But there’s still a long way to go.

Have we all gone linsane? I mean, insane? A virtually unknown Taiwanese-American basketball player for the New York Knicks has had a good day by shooting more hoops than usual, and suddenly he is the talk to the town. A new phrase is even coined… Linsanity. Overnight, he is a sports superstar.
And a hot new brand.

This morning’s news reports claimed that Justin Bieber’s YouTube channel has more total views than any other person – over 2 billion to be exact – according to famecount.com. Apparently, he’s stolen the coveted top spot from Lady Gaga, which made me wonder – are sexy rock and rollers a thing of the past?

There’s a whole lot of hype surrounding one woman in pop right now, and she’s not even released her first album yet - that woman is Lana Del Rey (or LDR as the cool-kids call her). Her sombre tones and soulful melodies have led many to hail her as the next best thing - but all is not so rosy in the land of LDR.
